Blade cooling in high temperature gas turbines – A review of film cooling and some fundamental results
Paper in proceeding, 1987

This paper presents a review of film cooling. Emphasize is put on the fundamental processes, i.e. influence from three dimensional effects, free-stream turbulence, pressure gradients and surface curvature are discussed. Furthermore the effect of free-stream turbulence on the heat transfer in the stagnation region of a circular cylinder is presented together with an investigation of influence from suction or blowing on the coherent structures is a turbulent boundary layer.
