Radiation Pattern Modeling with Characteristic Basis Function Patterns
Journal article, 2014

The Characteristic Basis Function Pattern (CBFP) method is presented as a generic modeling technique for obtaining highly accurate approximations of antenna radiation patterns using very few measurements. The method is described in detail and illustrated for a reflector antenna system as an application example. Future challenges facing the further development and application of the method are also discussed.
