Fluidized bed combustion for reduction of NO in exhaust gases from diesel engines and gas turbines
Other conference contribution, 1991

Gas turbines or diesel engines can be used for combined heat and power production. The drawback of the diesel engine and some gas turbines is high emission of nitrogen oxides (NOx). The NOx may be reduced if the exhaust gas is used for fluidization and combustion in a fluidized bed boiler. Experiments with injection of NO to the combustion air of an 8 MW circulation fluidized bed boiler burning coke or coal showed a reduction of 80-90%.
