CALCULATION OF TRUE HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS BETWEEN PARTICLES AND A FLUIDIZED BED
Paper in proceeding, 1992

Interpolation formulas are derived to determine the active particle fluidized bed heat and mass transfer coefficients. The formulas agree fairly well with experimental data in a wide range of Archimedes numbers 102 < Ar < 10 and reflect the existence of non-coinciding limiting Nusselt and Sherwood numbers as Re -ì 0 , as well as the difference in gas flow regimes around an isolated sphere and an active particle immersed in a fluidized bed.
