Significance of transport vs reaction rate for scaling of fluidised bed combustion
Other conference contribution, 2003

Judgements regarding the feasibility of scale-up of combustion results obtained from a laboratory plant to a full-scale boiler are presented. It is shown how thw Damköhler number, expressing the ration of conversion time to transport time, can be used as a tool for simplified scaling. An example is given from tests of desulphurisation in relation to design of circulating fluidized bed boilers
