Hospital de Sant Pau - Lluís Domènech i Montaner

This video is capturing the exterior and interior environment of the Hospital de Sant Pau in Barcelona. The hospital was built between 1902 and 1930 and was designed by the modernista architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner. The modernista complex consisting of many pavilions show some impressive masonry vaults clad with tiles in various patterns. This video is part of a collection of videos where masonry structures are documented and captured using motion pictures instead of stills to capture architectural qualities and experiences such as materiality, light and space. The project is funded by ARQ research fund.
