Abdul Shaafi Shaikh

Doctoral Student at Materials and manufacture

Shaafi is an industrial PhD student from EOS Metal Materials. Shaafi’s research focuses on additive manufacturing (3D printing) of nickel-base superalloys for high temperature applications. These materials are important for use in power plants and aeroplane engines. By making more superalloy materials available for 3D printing it may be possible to improve efficiencies and lower CO2 emissions from power generation and aviation industries.
Shaafi’s research is conducted as part of the CAM2 competence center for additive manufacturing.
