Gunilla Clancy
Gunilla Clancy holds a PhD in Sustainable Development from Chalmers University of Technology and an MSc in Chemistry from the University of Gothenburg. She is an Innovation Advisor at Chalmers University of Technology and a Registered Technology Transfer Professional (RTTP), supporting the development and uptake of research-based ideas. She represents Chalmers at the Swedish Institute for Standards (SIS) and is a member of the ASTP Working Group on Standards. She is also a member of Working Group 5, Merit Evaluation in Collaboration and Societal Impact, within the CoARA National Chapter Sweden. Gunilla has experience spanning academia, research institutes, entrepreneurship and industry. She founded and managed the consultancy Capture SustainAbility and worked as a researcher at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden. Her industrial experience includes roles as Environmental Assessment Specialist at AkzoNobel and Environmental Specialist in product development at IKEA of Sweden, where she also represented IKEA in the Swedish Life Cycle Center, formerly CPM. Her doctoral research focused on creating actionable knowledge to support innovation towards more sustainable wood-based products. The work explored how key product-sustainability characteristics can be translated and integrated into the expertise and everyday practices of cross-functional teams, drawing on assessment tools, scenario analysis and learning processes.
