Ahmed Fardan Jabir Hussain

Doctoral Student at Materials and manufacture

Fardan is a PhD researcher within the field of metal additive manufacturing (AM).
His research is focused on the development of advanced non‐weldable Ni‐base alloys for AM with special focus on Laser Based Powder Bed Fusion (LB‐PBF). The issue with the AM of advanced Ni‐base superalloys is extensive cracking either during AM processing or during following post‐AM treatment. Hence, effect of alloying elements on the microcracking susceptibility of LB-PBF processed advanced Ni‐base superalloys will be studied and novel alloy composition together with the tailored AM process will be developed.
