Flora’s research focuses on measuring the ongoing star formation of galaxies hosting an active galactic nucleus (AGN). AGN and star formation play an important role in the story of a galaxy’s evolution, as the energy output of an AGN has the potential to affect both the star formation and itself. Flora uses telescopes such as Chandra, WISE, Spitzer, Herschel, and ALMA, to place constraints on the power of the AGN and the star formation rates of distant galaxies with the aim of understanding the connection between AGN and star formation in the context of galaxy evolution.
