Glenn Johansson
Glenn Johansson is a PhD student in the Division of Water Environment Technology.
His research addresses treatment of polluted stormwater, with the remediation technology called rain gardens. It is an innovative, nature based bioretention filter method. The aim of the project is to gain scientific knowledge about how to create an optimal rain garden for treatment of urban stormwater by comparing filters such as biochar, peat and fly ash in combination with selected plants and mycorrhiza. The results are relevant in a future with increased pressure on our stormwater systems due to increased population, ongoing urbanization, and a shift in weather patterns.
