Carolina Marion de Godoy

Doctoral Student at Chemical Technology

Carolina joined the division of Forest Products and Chemical Engineering as a PhD student in December, 2021. Her research project is part of BioInnovation’s Resource-smart Processes initiative and aims to expand the knowledge about the delignification of hardwood. The work focuses on mass transfer and morphological changes in wood chips during cooking. The goal is to better understand the governing mechanisms of delignification, which can increase the efficiency and selectivity of cooking processes, impacting not only the pulp and paper industry, but the chemical and energy sectors as well.
