Jessica Fred

Doctoral Student at Chemistry and Biochemistry

Jessica Fred is a Doctoral student in Bo Albinsson’s research group since 2023. Her research is on photon upconverison, a process in which the energy of two photons is combined to form one photon of higher energy. She focuses her research on upconversion from the visible part of the solar spectrum into the UV region, and techniques for utilizing the upconverted photons to drive photochemical reactions. The long-term goal is to enable high energy photochemical transformations by direct solar exposure through photon upconversion.
