Joanna Ewa Sobczyk

Assistant Professor at Subatomic, High Energy and Plasma Physics

Joanna joined Chalmers in May 2025. She obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Valencia in 2019. In years 2020-2025 she was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Mainz, as the Alexander von Humboldt Fellow and later the Marie Curie Fellow.

Her research is focused on electroweak nuclear physics and its interface with particle and astrophysics. She develops ab initio nuclear techniques to calculate the neutrino-nucleus cross-sections from first

principles. The main motivation for her work are long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiments.
