Kasra Khatami Mashhadi
I hold a PhD in Chemical Engineering, obtained at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, with a focus on bioprocess engineering and fermentation, and I am currently working as an EU Project Manager and Researcher at Chalmers University of Technology. My academic background includes a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering with a focus on energy and environment, providing strong foundations in chemical engineering unit operations, process design, and scale-up principles. At Chalmers, I work at the interface of research, industry, and European innovation programs, coordinating and delivering large multidisciplinary EU projects within the circular bioeconomy across 11 European countries and 21 partner organizations. My role combines scientific leadership with operational project management, including close collaboration with industrial and academic stakeholders, responsibility for project coordination and reporting, and oversight of activities to ensure timely delivery, alignment with EU objectives & regulations, and translation of research outcomes into scalable, application-driven solutions in areas such as fungal biotechnology, alternative proteins, and biomass valorization.
