Katarina Gårdfeldt

Katarina Gårdfeldts research is about global transport and transformation of mercury species in the environment and how these processes are affected by climate change. The research aim is partly to understand the processes in seawater and ice that are important for the gas-exchange between air and water, and how these processes are affected by sunlight. Katarina have participated in several international research projects and expeditions e.g. in the Arctic, at the Mediterranean Sea and Antarctica. Katarina collaborate with researchers in a global network for mercury studies, e.g. analytical and marine chemists, oceanographers and modelers.She share her time between research and teaching at the department and being the Dean at the Centre for Environment and Sustainability, GMV, at Chalmers and University of Gothenburg, www.chalmers.se/gmv .
