Rasmus Ringström

Project Assistant at Chemistry and Biochemistry

Rasmus Ringström is a PhD candidate in the Albinsson research group since 2019. The focus of his research entails the “up- and down-conversion” of photons within carefully designed molecular systems. Up- and down-conversion refers to the ability to convert two photons of low energy into one of higher energy or vice versa. Several different optical spectroscopic techniques, such as femtosecond transient absorption, are used to detail the mechanisms of these light-converting systems. In the long term, his project hopes to enhance the efficiency of commercial photovoltaics.
