Researcher at Industrial Biotechnology

Verónica Sáez-Jiménez joined the Division of Industrial Biotechnology in August 2016. Her research is focused on enzymology and protein engineering. Her main aim is the generation of a novel enzyme activity to be used in the bio-based production of adipic acid. This product is widely used and mainly produced by chemical process from fossil fuels. Positive outcomes from this project will be of crucial importance for society, due to the impelling need of replacing fossil resources with renewable ones.
