Sebastian Samuelsson is a researcher in the research group Turbomachinery and Aeroacoustics. His main research area is within performance modeling and conceptual design of civil aircraft engines. The purpose is to study concepts that can contribute to lower fuel burn and climate impact of aviation. Modeling is mainly focused on 0D/1D thermodynamic cycle performance simulations and correlation-based methods for determining engine dimensions and mass. Studied concepts include turbo-electric boundary layer ingesting aircraft and hydrogen-powered engines with exhaust heat recovery.
