Shirin Naserifar
Shirin has started her PhD in July 2019 with focus on forming cellulose netrworks in NaOH (aq). Her project is funded by Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation. In her project it is essential to have the comprehensive understanding of cellulose-cellulose interaction leading to reassociation for development of well-controlled processes and a broader utilization of cellulose solutions in aqueous alkali. Particularly attractive in her project is the possibility of utilizing cellulose reactivity (and thus its chemical conversions) in these solutions as a means of governing reassociation of the chains and controlling material properties of the resulting hydrogels.
