Jan Torgrimsson has a postdoc position where the main task is to develop and evaluate a new autofocus algorithm, adapted for airborne, imaging radar systems (Synthetic Aperture Radar - SAR). The algorithm has the capacity to reduce dependence on expensive and export-restricted inertial measurement systems, along with disturbance sensitive GPS-systems. The research is carried out in collaboration between the department of Earth and Space Sciences (Radar Remote Sensing Group) and SAAB Electronic Defence Systems (EDS). Jan’s work is funded by Vinnova.
