MULTITRAILER - Control allocation for electrical propulsion in long vehicle combinations
Research Project, 2021 – 2024

Purpose and goal: The purpose of the project is to develop and demonstrate distributed control systems for one or several electrically driven axles in long vehicle combinations, combined with a conventional internal combustion engine.
Both energy efficiency and safety shall be taken into consideration. The target is to develop theoretical control system models that can be implemented, tested, validate and demonstrated in real test vehicles under different driving conditions. Expected results and effects: The project is expected to lead to the following effects and results: - New vehicle models for vehicle combinations with electrically driven axles - New knowledge and competence about advanced control of electrical propulsion in vehicle combinations with several articulation points - Strengthened competitiveness for Swedish companies partly through new technical competence/knowledge/ innovation, partly through improved opportunity to influence the development of new standards - Demonstration and dissemination of knowledge about electric propulsion in heavy vehicles
