REEL 2 Wave 1 - System demonstrations of Regional Electrified Logistics
Research Project, 2022 – 2024

Purpose and goal: REEL unites actors that co-finance a strategic research and innovation initiative, to create a new experimental and theoretical basis for an accelerated large-scale electrification of a significant proportion of the regional logistics system, based on heavy battery electric trucks (> 16 tons) and charging at stationary points with sufficient power.
This to create integrated, interoperable, efficient, and innovative system and policy solutions, which value and take advantage of climate, local environment, health and traffic efficiency benefits. Expected results and effects: - Development, construction, analysis and evaluation of system demonstrations with a total of 40 electrified heavy trucks, as well as supporting charging infrastructure and control & management systems, in several different types of logistics applications - Joint development of business models and interoperable scalable architectures, modules, & interfaces, and proposals for, policy & regulatory development with regard to the societal benefit created - Analysis of changed working conditions and information gaps
