SCALE - Supply Chain Automation of Loading/unloading for increased Efficiency
Research Project, 2021 – 2023

There are currently three major shifts going on in the transport industry - digitalization, automation and electrification. Together, these have the potential to solve many problems that the industry is facing but this requires that all parts of the transport system are incorporated. One overlooked area that is a bottleneck in the system is loading and unloading. The purpose of this project is to, with a system perspective in mind, develop and validate a solution that would streamline and automate loading / unloading and at the same time make it more safe and robust. Such a solution would accelerate the transition to an automated, electrified and more resource-efficient freight transport system.
