Smart Housing promotes sustainable, regional growth by supporting the industrial sectors wooden house building and processing of flat glass products to increase research and innovation capacity and increased competitiveness. The aim is to be an “innovation arena to create smart housing and sustainable built environment based on glass and wood” with the directions “Habitats” and “Technology”. Smart Housing aims to act as a systems integrator and stimulate networking and when the needs of several actors coincide create activities, thematic meeting places or RDI-projects.
Expected effects in 15-20 years. SHS has contributed to: 1. developed the value ecosystem for wooden buildings and flat glass so that the actors have the ability to collaborate for change and innovation. 2. the business sector has developed the capacity for renewal and long-term growth and thus its competitiveness nationally / internationally. 3. The regional academies / institutes / centers have developed within SHS areas of strength and are a strong node national / international. 4. Public actors have developed the ability to work with innovation processes in collaboration.
