Designing the Impact of Digital Product Passport DIPP
Research Project, 2022
– 2023
Purpose and goal
DIPP is a feasibility study project that aims to prepare the automotive industry to meet the changing conditions expected through EU´s Grean Deal and New Circular Economy Plan and above all Digital Product Passport (DPP). Eligibility requirements on transparency and traceability in sustainability-related data need to be integrated and valued already in product development work. The goal is to enable the development of sustainable and circular solutions that meet both changing market expectations and legislation, specifically DPP. DIPP delivers roadmap and plan for next steps.
Expected results and effects
After the feasibility study, potential, risks and activities for the implementation of the roadmap in general and the next step in more detail are expected to give participants confidence to invest in the proposed direction. The pilots and applications must reduce risks and demonstrate identified potential. Together, these measures should strengthen the Swedish automotive industry to use DPP and support development of sustainable and circular solutions. The knowledge that is created must contribute to the product development ability, and thus competitiveness, increasing.
