Designed living environments - what does it mean? From theory to practice. A pre-study.
Research Project, 2021
– 2022
Designed living environment is one of the region's priority areas and especially with a focus on cross-sector collaborations. The concept of Designed living environment can be difficult to understand within the municipal cultural sector, but even more difficult for those businesses that do not work with art and culture on a daily basis. Sometimes it is better to illustrate practically than to explain and educate theoretically. This pre-study, conducted in collaboration of three municipalities, will provide an opportunity for planners, the social sector, the cultural sector, property owners, users, academy, and others to work together to define the concept of Designed living environment and put it into practice in one place in each municipality. The places are not culturally and historically special, relatively anonymous and with an identity that is more invisible than visible. The aim is to develop a way of working and knowledge that can be spread in the Gothenburg region and provide inspiration for more cross-functional collaborations for sustainable community planning where art and culture become a natural part of the living environment.
