CIRCLOG: Facilitating continuous resource flows through circular logistics services
Research Project, 2023 – 2026

Today, there is a large circularity gap in Sweden where only 3.4% of resources are cycled back to the economy after use. Sweden also has high circularity goals to support the 2045 climate targets. Circular products, business models and supply chains are being introduced to support this goal but circular logistics services, receive little attention. The purpose of this project is to develop knowledge on the circular logistics skills, capabilities and service structures that are needed to facilitate effective and efficient flows in circular supply chains. The circular logistics needs of different industries and the services offered by the logistics industry will be analyzed. Circular logistics service structures addressing the different industrial conditions across a variety of sectors will be illustrated. Conceptualization and categorization of these services will be provided together with their potential contribution to
resource recovery in different settings.
