Evaluation of the benefits of demand-controlled heating in multi family buildingsring av nyttan med behovsanpassad värmereglering
Research Project, 2022 – 2023

This project concerns a follow-up of a research project where traditional heating control in three multi family houses was compared with two demand-controlled heating (DCH) technologies. An earlier theoretical study shows that DCH can reduce heat demand by about 10% in ordinary multi family houses. As it can be installed quickly and cheaply, it can in short time make the housing stock more efficient, which is also good for the energy systems' resource efficiency and robustness. Experience also indicates better room temperature levels. Today, however, the state of knowledge is low and it has not been scientifically evaluated in the field. In the first-mentioned research project, extensive measurement data was produced after it had been reported. However, many experiences were obtained and preliminary analyses show promising results (about -10% heating) that are interesting from a scientific and practical point of view and can be of great importance if developed and published.
