Hydrogen admixture in marine LNG/LBG fuels
Research Project, 2024

The main project idea is that both hydrogen and biogas are expected to be interesting energy carriers for shipping and other future industries. If it is possible to use either hydrogen or methane or a mix of these fuels in different degrees of mixing in different applications, flexibility is created. This could be in the form of excess hydrogen production being mixed into the methane distribution system, hydrogen being used as pilot fuel instead of diesel in dual fuel LNG engines, or methane being mixed into hydrogen.
