AI-Driven Digital Twins in Grinding 4.0
Research Project, 2024
– 2025
AI-IGC4.0-DT will build, demonstrate, and commercialize innovave AI-driven Digital Twin (DT) soluons for Industry 4.0
applicaons in grinding technology (IGC4.0). In this direcon, the project will specify structuring principles and blueprints with a
focus on opmizing producon processes and increasing resource efficiency through digital soluons.
AI-IGC4.0-DT applicaons will consider the characteriscs of real-me digital twins (DTs) and arficial intelligence (AI). At the same
me, AI-IGC4.0-DT will develop and implement a unique blend of process monitoring and cloud-based DT as a Service (DTaaS) or DT as a Plaorm (DTaaP) soluons.
AI-IGC4.0-DT will be demonstrated in three (3) shop-floor pilot applicaons focusing on predicon of energy and resource
consumpon needs, intelligent pre-producon refinements, and rapid response to change and adjustment needs. These applicaons will be deployed and demonstrated in real manufacturing environments of the end users.
AI-IGC4.0-DT will also build a resilient supply chain of stakeholders around the technological outcomes of the project. This community will provide a foundaon for sustainability and wider adopon of the project's results to maximize the impact of the AI-IGC4.0-DT technologies and use cases. All key marketable innovaons (KEIs) will be high TRL>=8-9 and ready for immediate commercializaon as they will be built on top of exisng MES/ERP systems of end users
