Digital System Integration exploration of product Family Technology (D-SIFT)
Research Project, 2024 – 2025

The purpose of D-SIFT is to integrate a set of methods and tools into a digital integration and exploration platform that is being developed at Chalmers. The goal of D-SIFT is to formulate and test an integrated methodology for evaluating system behavior, which aims to reach TRL 4. The method intends to enable a more efficient evaluation of alternative product solutions with regard to functional performance. The completion of a doctoral thesis, educational materials and scientific publications.

D-SIFT intends to develop a new type of system design methods based on "state of the art" techniques from national and international specialist groups to meet the needs of industrial concept development teams. The project is expected to radically improve the ability to quantitatively model system impact when integrating alternative solution concepts. Methods are integrated so that alternative system studies can be carrie
