New roles for integrating quality and sustainability – a rewarding opportunity or increased stress and feelings of inadequacy?
Research Project, 2024 – 2027

A green transition requires that sustainability becomes part of daily work. One suitable area for integration is quality work, which already has an established infrastructure of management systems and tools. Integrating sustainability and quality efforts can be effective, but there are challenges for both organizations and individuals. The lack of sustainability expertise among quality professionals. and unclear roles can lead to feelings of stress and inadequacy among employees who lack the competence to contribute to the transition.

The purpose of the project is to develop support for mapping competency needs and to support skill development for the integration of quality and sustainability work. The project aims to understand how individuals experience this integration and how organizations should be designed to strengthen individuals' capacity to contribute to the green transition without experiencing a work environment characterized by conflicting demands and feelings of inadequacy.
