Traceable research data: methods and recommendations for increased traceability and visibility for Swedish data publications
Research Project, 2025

This flagship project aims to improve the management and traceability of data publications at Swedish higher education institutions. The project investigates how data publications can be identified, registered and monitored in the long term.

By developing methods for harvesting metadata and producing recommendations, the project can contribute to increased traceability, visibility and quality assurance for research data in line with the FAIR principles. The results will be made openly available as current and gap analyses, recommendations and proposals for technical solutions.

The goal is to create conditions for meeting national requirements for monitoring and reporting. Higher education institutions, researchers and other actors are helped to identify and make published research data visible, which strengthens Swedish research nationally and internationally.
