HIMMEL - Enable electric heavy mobility
Research Project, 2026 – 2029

The project aims to develop an electric powertrain for a dedicated fully electric vehicle architecture in collaboration with suppliers and academia. The goal is to create an integrated and optimized powertrain architecture covering the three main components:
power electronics and control, electric motors, and reduction gearboxes. Strong emphasis is placed on integration to achieve low weight and compact dimensions, enabling vehicle integration. A key objective is to develop solutions for magnet-free electric motors without rare earth materials. The project will deliver prototypes used to validate a fully electric truck architecture, which is a key enabler in the transition to electrified transport. Achieving the project goals will help maintain Sweden’s competitiveness and enable the delivery of fully electric transport solutions that outperform those expected to emerge, primarily from China.
