Energy efficiency of buildings in a dynamic systems perspectiv
Research Project, 2014 – 2017

The point of departure for this project proposal is that energy efficiency in the built environment not necessarily is the same as energy efficiency of a single building. Further, sustainability of local neighbourhoods is not necessarily best achieved by a local energy supply and, in particular not when there is district heating system nearby. The point of departure is further that the long term climate emissions should be in focus and that a too narrow focus in time and space might easily lead to serious sub-optimisations which will then be a barrier to long term sustainability. The objective of the project is thus to apply a long term dynamic perspective and by applying optimising modelling to assess energy efficiency measures which are contributing to long term sustainability and which are not.
