High Entropy Alloy Laser Coatings (HEALCOAT)
Research Project, 2014 – 2015

High entropy alloys (HEAs) constitute the most recent development of metallic materials. These alloys show unique combination of properties. However, in most cases this is shown for laboratory cast samples. In this project, the concept of HEAs is transferred from laboratory scale to potential industrial scale. The preferred route for this is powder metallurgy and the aim is to show for at least one HEA how it can be fabricated as powder and then also tailored for laser-assisted coating preparation.
