Shape Inspection by Vision in Production (SIVPRO)
Research Project, 2014 – 2016

Objective and Goal: The objective of this project is to install and evaluate a system for automatic evaluation of the shape of a statistically relevant number of items produced in a production line at VCC in Olofström. The system should be able to evaluate isolated items positioned and oriented arbitrarily on a conveyor belt at a speed up to 1 m/s without interfering with the production line. Result and Expected Effects: This project aims to increase the automation level in quality evaluation. The project will develop a method for in-line analysis of geometry deviation of potentially all parts produced in a representative production line and investigate how these results should be fed back to the production system. These objectives are in line with ambitions in the Produktion2030 programme.
