Truck configuration with respect to multiple criteria in a heterogeneous and dynamic environment
Research Project, 2005 – 2011

The truck industry is becoming increasingly customer oriented with highly specialized technical solutions. A number of more of less conflicting criteria must be handled simultaneously where customers may appreciate different qualities differently depending on, e.g., the environment in which they operate and their transport mission.

The configuration problem can be formulated as a large-scale multi-objective optimization problem, which also possesses simulation-based objective function calculations.

In cooperation with Volvo 3P and ITWM Kaiserslautern we investigate this problem in a project funded by Volvo 3P.
