Char conversion in indirect gasification in fluidised beds
Research Project, 2015
– 2017
Indirect gasification is a technique that can be of high importance to reduce the dependence of fossil transport fuels. Char conversion is a key factor for the gasification process, both to achieve optimal raw gas efficiency, but also for control of the process. This project, that involves measurements in units of different scale and modelling, aims at increasing the knowledge about char conversion in indirect gasification and development of models that can describe it in the different facilities. In the larger units, GoBiGas and Chalmer’s gasifier, all phenomena involved in the char conversion interact and tests in these will provide validation data for the models and increase the knowledge about the impact of operation parameters. Tests in a lab unit are included to allow the study of individual phenomenon and provide input data of these needed in the models. The modelling in the project acts as a link between the different tests and gives possibilities to generalize the results.
