Virtuel Production Model in scale 1:1 on construction site

This R&D project examines the possibility of developing a BIM-viewer, which support the use of BIM and its information on the construction site by visualizing the model and the information in scale 1:1 in a user-friendly way. The developed BIM viewer, called BIMXplorer, utilizing the BIM model and 3D visualization (Virtual Reality). The result from the study shows that the developed VR-system supports:

- Better understanding and perception of space
- Supports better decision making and problem solving in the design
- Support better work preparation and planning construction activities

Additionally it gives better information sharing, communication, understanding and reduce misunderstanding and misinterpretation of drawings, etc. Furthermore, this will contribute to increased productivity and efficiency in construction.
