The project aims at strengthening the infrastructure for the collection of small batteries of different types and thereby making the collection more efficient. The project is a continuation of an earlier project. The project is threefold; to study the handling of used batteries in the homes; the importance of a well-functioning infrastructure for collection and analysis of the batteries flow in the society. The project will use interventions, i.e conscious changes of the conditions for battery collection in four municipalities of different sizes with different geographical conditions and systems for battery collection. The results from the three project steps completed in Phase I are combined to build a new model for scenario analysis of generation and collection rate of spent batteries depending on the changes in policy, consumption and behavior as well as in collection infrastructure.
