Transport Procurement and Energy Efficent Goods Transport

A project is proposed with the goal of a creating an index that will describe the continuing work to improve energy efficiency in goods transportation. In the project, we will develop, exam and implement questions that will be included in a survey distributed every second year to transport purchases in major Swedish companies. The project’s main challenge is to formulate the questions so that they reflect the ongoing development of the calculation and reporting of energy and sustainability data for freight transportation. The project group participates in the Transport Procurement Panel, Q3, and a number of national and international projects in the field. This provides good opportunities to carry out the planned work. A methodology will be developed and verified in order to present an energy efficiency index for freight transport.
