Methane recovery and harnessing for energy and chemical uses at coal mine sites
Research Project, 2017 – 2020

State of the art review on adsorption processes for methane concentration in coal mines ventilation emissions. Design and operation of lab-scale units for adsorption, regenerative combustion and partial oxidation.

Preparation of carboneaceus and avanced material for methane separation in air-methane mixtures; selection of active materials for membrane modules used in gas separation; deveolpment of permeation models; analysis of the implementation of the mentioned techonologies to other processes generating lean methane emmisions (water treatment), also considering the management of the generated wastes.
