LCA som ett verktyg för utveckling av framtida energieffektivare bilar
Research Project, 2017
– 2020
Volvo have been working with reducing the exhaust emissions related to the vehicle’s use phase and due to changing conditions like electrification, new challenges related to the environmental work, includes approaches that will decrease environmental impact and still achieve a higher energy efficiency compared to previous cars. With life cycle assessment (LCA) as we can map a complete vehicle’s environmental impact, and utilize the tool to identify the aspects, that are most essential from an environmental- and energy efficient. The project will investigate new ways of working, by combining LCA with material declaration data from suppliers, which can culminate into new requirements and drive Volvo’s product development forward. The PHD project between Chalmers and Volvo, with the purpose to develop a future vehicle with less environmental impact. It will also drive the development work forward with suppliers, in order to meet the new requirements.
