Novel antifouling strategies
Research Project, 2019

The aim of this collaborative initiative is to expand and strengthen our multidisciplinary research group on antifouling solutions by a collaboration with Gothenburg University. The goal of the research is to investigate novel antifouling solutions which are in focus of the most of the paint manufacturers at the moment. These solutions are utilizing new antifouling strategies which are biocide-free and not harmful for the environment. The underlying mechanism for such coatings is to use special surfaces with hydrophobic and hydrophilic properties to distract the fouling organisms.
