CemZero – Heat transfer with plasma in rotary kilns
Research Project, 2019 – 2024

The project aims to investigate how electrification can contribute to sustainable cement production. The project will, i.e., design concepts for possible technical solutions, model how the electricity system would be affected if cement production is electrified and analyze business conditions for identified concepts. The Swedish Energy Agency estimates that the project has significant potential to contribute to reduced greenhouse gas emissions from industry processes.
