Energy and packaging optimized electrified propulsion system (EPOD)
Research Project, 2019 – 2020

The project focus on the development and control of an advantageous new patented filed electric propulsion system with unique potential for energy efficiency, intended to be used in urban applications in the weight interval of 18-30 ton. The project will be the base for the research, development and test of the new technologies connected to the patented applied electrified propulsion system concept. High power and torque with low energy losses will be handled in a lightweight construction with the two asymmetrically geared traction machines. An advanced control system is necessary to optimize performance. The work is iterative and connected with other running parallel projects. The electric propulsion system is designed in a way suitable for a future full scale production and manufacturing in Sweden. Collaborations partners includes universities, specialist companies and software companies
