Graphene enhanced pre-casted cement wall with insulation function
Research Project, 2019 – 2020

The purpose with this project is to develop a new type of insulation material which is based on nano material and cement. With the use of foamconcrete as a base enhanced by grafen the purpose is to develop a material that can be used as a standard insulation board. When air is injected into a special concrete mix, we get a very brittle and non workable material. The goal is to produce a insulation board that works for the prefab industry. Expected results and effects: Expected result is to develop a boardlike material which has the specifications of a modern insulation board. A board that could be used and handle as a normal insulation board. Due to the fact that the insulation board a similar to a concrete wall, it should be much easier to recycle insulated concrete elements. In the future recycling of building materials is going to be very important, today with traditional insulation it is much more difficult to recycle concrete elements. Approach and implementation: Svenska Cement will develop a mix that will have the right insulation characteristics in the dry board. This material is going to be very brittle and non workable in a industry. After this phase SHT-TEK and Chalmers is going to develop the desired grafen based material to enhance the final material. So the final product, would be a product that are not brittle and is workable in a industry.
