Research Project, 2012 – 2014

The objective of this project is to collect new real-world road accident data and to make the collected data available to the Swedish road safety research community. Road safety constantly presents new issues and challenges that require recent in-depth data, to support potentially life-saving research. Creating a transparent and independent in-depth road accident dataset benefits the road users, in terms of new interventions and life-saving policies and less suffering. The data collected in this project during a period of 2 years is performed in scheduled shifts represent 24 hours a day 365 days a year. The in-depth data is collected in the area of Gothenburg and the 6 municipalities around. The on-scene investigation team is stationed at Safer Lindholmen. The investigation team conduct the data collection using the DaCoTA method.
